Professional Artists and this year’s IB Visual Arts students exhibit their work for a good cause!!!
Invitation to a vernissage on Saturday, 10 th June 2017
For the first time the International School of Hamburg is celebrating “ART FUSION”. On Saturday, June 10 th starting at 18:00, the ISH main Lobby and Aula will turn into a gallery displaying professional works of art and imaginative artworks by this years Grade 12 IB Visual Arts students. We warmly welcome Mr. Antonio Del Prete, an Italian painter, author and Hollywood actor (Mission Impossible III) together with local artist Anna Schellberg and Leela Wang an ISH parent and artist from China. Altogether there will be around 40 artworks that can be purchased during the evening. The exhibiting artists have pledged to donate 40% for a good cause. Admission is free.
The main idea behind “ART FUSION“ is to bring together notable and professional artists and our senior visual arts students for an evening celebrating their artistic achievements. In doing so creates the opportunity in raising funds for Kids4Kids a long established I.S.H. project focused on helping and supporting children within the immediate environs of Hamburg. Proceeds of 20% from the purchase of artworks will go directly to this particular cause and our support is presently being given to the Altonaer Kinderkrankenhaus as well as Die Arche. In addition another 20% will be made available for the purchase of digital and electronic equipment to enable students in the visual arts to work in digital and screen
based art making forms.
Antonio Del Prete (www.antoniodelprete.com) who is originally from Naples, Italy is currently residing in Los Angeles. The work he will be exhibiting comes from his series Masters Remixed in which he combines baroque paintings satirically with modern elements.
Examples are: BacDonald and Holywood.
Anna Schellberg from Hamburg (www.anna-schellberg.com) is another artist exhibiting. Her artwork often reveals her journalistic background and imagery expressing urban life combining the past, present and future.
Lastly, Leela Wang is the third invited practising artist who is also an author, well known for Sommerferien in Peking, a book for children.
The International School of Hamburg is indeed very happy that the above-mentioned artists are so willingly contributing to this purposeful and exciting event. All parties involved will greatly benefit: the individual artists, Kids4Kids along with the students taking part. To help make this event a success we need your support and cordially invite you to “ART FUSION”. Andrew Cross, the Head of School will officially open the evening followed by light refreshments.
