“Just vote” is the motto of a flyer published by the Hamburg Parliament to explain how the new electoral law works. Now available in English, it can be downloaded on www.hamburgwahl.de. Only German citizens can vote in the elections to Hamburg’s Parliament, the Bürgerschaft. But in the elections to the District Assemblies (Bezirksversammlungen) German citizens and citizens of EU Member States are eligible to vote as long as they are at least 18 years old on polling day and have lived in Hamburg for at least three months. That means you too can have a say in shaping the future of your district.
