Wow! The holidays are over and I cant say that I´m not happy about it. Oh, don´t get me wrong I love the holiday season, but this year was more stressful than usual. It was fraught with illnesses and severe bouts of homesickness and lots of family time. The store was closed to give me time to recover from my surgery the the first week of December. After being home from the hospital for 2 days, I was hit with a lung infection and Pneumonia...geesh. I got over that after about a week and a half of laying on the couch coughing and moaning. So, New Years we went to stay with friends in Berlin. They have twin boys 8 months younger than our little boy. We thought great, they can play and have fun. The twins were sick, both coughing with runny (it was a flood) noses. Of course we prepared ourselves for the fact that our son would catch whatever they had. I love kids, but c´mon let´s be honest...they are incubators for every germ known to man. Fortunately, he was fine and didn't get sick and we had a great time. We drove back home on the Sunday after New Years and I was really looking forward to coming back to work. I had been home too long and was getting lazy. I missed my store. Sunday evening I starting having chills and a scratchy throat. Nooooooooo! I ignored what I was feeling, you know, mind over matter and all that and made it to work Monday morning. As the day progressed I started feeling worse. Monday night I was having chills and fever and my whole body ached. Noooooo! I had the flu. No way was I coming to the store. So back to my cushy spot on the couch surrounded by juice, tea, tissues and NyQuil. So I ended up, including being closed for the holidays, out for almost 4 weeks.
Now for the good news..... I am germ free and feeling pretty darn good! I would think that I am done with illnesses until next year. LOL My first day back was Monday (10.1.10). I AM SOOOOO HAPPY!
So I am including in my New Years wishes a healthy 2011 filled with love, kindness and understanding! 2011 is going to be amazing!
Until the next time.....
