Well, I finally got it together. I now have gift certificates, gift baskets and a variety of mugs, tea sets, syrups, etc available. I have some sample baskets made up, but I will make baskets per order. Please order them in advance of when you need them so that I have enough time to make them. I have 2 basket types, one is "Coffee Break" and the other is "tea Time". I can alos make one large combo basket. The basket decoration will change according to season and holiday. If you want one for a… Continue

About a week a lady from the Hamburg Express (online newspaper) contacted me about doing and interview for a new weekly feature they have started. Needless to say I was totally over the moon about it. She said she read my store reviews on Qype and it piqued her interest. The interview was posted today and will run for a week. Here is the link, http://www.thehamburgexpress.com/content/view/1402789/58/

According to the BBC the next general election is likely to be on 6th May: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/8496591.stm
I found this link to the site where UK citizens living abroad can register for a postal vote so thought I'd share it here: http://www.aboutmyvote.co.uk/
Not sure whom I'm going to vote for, but I suppose I ought to!

Much Ado About Nothing, by William Shakespeare, directed by Carol McNamara, was a great delight and proved that a Shakespeare comedy isn't the hard fare that people imagine if it is approached in the light-hearted vein in which it was written. Audiences loved it, as was proven by our average sales of 84%, and our crowning glory was Jasper, a lovable, well-behaved English Springer Spanial and excellent acting dog! Wit, wickedness, song, dance and a happy end - what more could you want!

I have just moved to Hamburg and would be keen to join an English speaking local amateur football that play evenings or weekends.
Any additional information would be helpful.

British Day in Hamburg is always a resounding celebration of German-British friendship, but it also serves a further good cause. The 14,000 visitors who enjoyed the daytime programme and the British Day Open Air Proms Concert on 5 - 6 September at the Hamburg Polo Club helped raise 22,500 Euros for charity, bringing the total donated over the past 19 years to more than 350,000 Euros.
Cheques were handed over by British Day initiator Peter Rogers at a reception at the Anglo-German… Continue

Well, our audiences seem to like it - standing ovations, endless applause and best of all, beaming bright faces leaving the theatre! Tickets are selling extremely well and are hard to come by in the second week. One of our greatest successes, it seems! Who would have thought that having 36 people on stage in a production could run so smoothly. Many thanks to our director Rebecca Garron, assistant Julia Weitschat and our wonderful musical director Florian Miro, not to mention all the… Continue

is a new service from the Foreign Office that lets you register your whereabouts while you're travelling or living abroad. So, if there's an emergency and you need to be contacted, we can find you more quickly.
You can Register with LOCATE by visiting www.fco.gov.uk/travel

Our flyers have all gone out already, but the news is that patrons of Theater an der Marschnerstraße are no longer able to use the Dello car park - it has been sold and will be redeveloped! So when you come to see our November production A Christmas Carol, bear that in mind. It might be best to come by train - U-Bahn Hamburger Strasse.
See you there!

Hello Britain in Hamburg!
I'm John, as you will have gathered from my profile. I'm stuck back here in Birmingham, where I work for Birmingham City Council as part of the 'Excellence in People Management' programme. (I can bore you with the details on request.)
I have one foot in Hamburg because my fiancée has recently started working there and I'm looking to relocate as soon as I get a job.
My first two visits to Hamburg were school exchanges, and I enjoyed… Continue

The FCO has set up a new online registration service called LOCATE

LOCATE is meant to record both short-term visits and longer-term residence outside the UK and is for use by all British nationals and their families anywhere, for any length of stay. The new system allows authorised staff in London as well as local consular… Continue

For fans of British Day - or for that matter of British actor Mark Lyndon - this clip on the RTL Regional website
is a must. Suzan Üner and her film crew spent most of Saturday (5 Sept) at British Day with Mark as their guide. What Hamburgers think of the British, what Mark thinks of the Scots and how Mark copes with a side saddle - it's all here, with a good dose of the humour we expect from the man who… Continue

Continue

On Friday Ute and I had the chance to do a video interview with The Honorary British Consul Claus Budelmann in his office. As soon as he has signed it off I will post it here. After the interview we wanted to shoot some "Britain in Hamburg" footage so I Ute dressed up in a Victorian costume and we walked around the Alster to find a good angle. An Abendblatt… Continue
